On a year like no other, Mallow Credit Union wanted to support its student members more than ever. This year, all students who took out an education loan with the credit union between July – September were automatically put in a draw to win €500 cashback.
Speaking on behalf of the Credit Union, Business Development Officer Ciara Fitzgerald said, “At Mallow Credit Union we understand how expensive college has become – even virtually as we saw this year, which is why our education loan is our lowest rate, at 6%. We really want to thank all the students who chose Mallow Credit Union as their credit provider this year, their business means a great deal to us here at the credit union. Interest generated from their loans will go back into the community through our sponsorships of local teams and charities. It also enables us to update our services, which now includes online banking, as well as continue to employ local people, keep our 8 branches open and support community initiatives.”

There was over a quarter of a million euro lent to students between July – September of this year. Six of our student members were drawn and each received €500 cash, in time for Christmas and semester two.
