Mallow Credit Union in the heart of Mallow , Co. Cork is a modern, member focused credit union, dedicated to serving its membership in an efficient and professional manner while providing best in class products and services.

We are now seeking an energetic, efficient Administrative Assistant/Teller for a 12 month contract to join the team.

The Administrative Assistant/Teller will report to the Branch Supervisor and will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class standard of member service in a frontline role processing day to day financial transactions for Mallow Credit Union members, dealing with queries, and offering information and support as required.

This role will be the main point of contact for all existing and potentially new members. This role will be responsible for promoting services and products that benefit members.

The role requires the Administrative Assistant / Teller to have a professional manner and work effectively to ensure member satisfaction and ultimately member retention and repeat business. This role will require Saturday work.

What the role will involve – Key Responsibilities.

  • Delivering an excellent member experience by providing an efficient front facing and telephone service to members while adhering to service level standards and compliance.
  • Provide exemplary service to all Mallow Credit Unions members and potential new members by effectively resolving member queries first time leading to the minimisation of referring issues to other departments for resolution.
  • Proactively participate in continuous training and development in order to provide the highest levels of service in quality and focus to members at all times.
  • Keep up to date on promotional initiatives and new products and services being implemented within the credit union.
  • Promote a culture that reflects the Credit Union’s values and encourages good performance and excellent member services.
  • In conjunction with the Branch Supervisor ensure that the Credit Union is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in all process improvement service enhancements.
  • Undertake all administrative and operational instructions within the team.
  • Deliver first point of contact resolution wherever possible or where queries cannot be resolved by initial contact ensure that the query is seamlessly transitioned to the correct department and person for resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our member’s financial well-being by promoting credit union products and services
  • Process new member applications ensuring that AML documentation is obtained, correct, and complete prior to submitting to the Membership Committee for approval.
  • Promote Mallow Credit Union services and products and inform prospective members of the benefits of membership.
  • Communicate effectively and sensitively when responding to members face to face, on the phone and through email.
  • Maintain accurate, concise records in line with relevant data policies/procedures aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Carry out general office tasks as requested by management e.g. document scanning and indexing, photocopying Member documentation, filing, shredding, data analysis

Competencies required:

  • APA or QFA qualification or can at a minimum demonstrate desire to work towards same.
  • Member focused with a proven track record delivering exemplary member service
  • Experience within a financial regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Active listening skills to accurately respond to inquiries and requests
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized and able to work on own initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook applications along with good keyboard skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
  • Continuously adding skills and capabilities relevant to role
  • Organisation & planning, problem solving, ability to handle escalations effectively
