Friday 1st May – European Banking Holiday
28 April, 2020Friday May 1st 2020 is a bank holiday in many Euro currency/European Union countries and although we are open for business, it is not possible for any Credit Unions or banks to electronically exchange Euro payments between each other, given that there is no Euro payment clearing system available on this day.
Members won’t be able to fully complete SEPA payments on Friday May 1st 2020 online or in-branch (you’ll be able to arrange them but they cannot be processed until Tuesday 5th May) and any payments you were expecting to receive will be delayed because of the European holiday and our own Bank Holiday Monday on May 4th.
Payments will be processed as normal on Tuesday 5th May. We’re advising all our members to arrange early payments where possible to avoid being delayed by these holidays.
If you have any concerns regarding a payment please contact our Member Services Team on 022 21121 or call your local branch.
